La Habana, Cuba, January 2018, canon digital, ©Sylvie G
around eight am he got up
sulked in his coffee
fasting, going for a walk
seven thousand steps an hour,
one has to start in order to finish.
A hundred steps a minute,
but one hundred twenty-five is better,
turn right,
the charity box has been stolen
turn left,
five thousand two hundred and twenty-five.
Almost there, don’t give up
the mobile prayer truck is parked.
Seven thousand steps. Every day.
Oh, I do love this!
Thank you Lea☺
Thank you Sylvie. Cuba has long been on my « list » of places to visit and your words capture it so beautifully. 🙂
I wish you go one day, it is a great country ☺
Perhaps but since moving here to France, I really have no wish to be anywhere else… 🙂
Nicely done, Sylvie. A tough existence
Thank you Derrick
