I tell him that, yes, it is probably important to want to make a difference for the good of the universe, because that seems to be what he wants to hear. But while telling him what he wants to hear, I cannot help thinking about the kind of difference one makes, about whether it is really what everybody should try and achieve. Maybe if some of us gave up  trying to making a difference for the sake of the universe (gave up wanting to become president, for example) and made the decision to watch TV until they die,  perhaps the world would be a better place. Just saying  (while watching raindrops on the trees).
