Happy poetic New Year to all visiting the blog regularly or from time to time. Since the opening of this blog, I have explored poetry in different forms, but it has always been, since the beginning, about capturing words inspired by a moment, a sentence, a word, a photo, a thought, or a mix. I wonder what has occupied my mind on that day, the nature of my reflections or my concerns, which I then translate into words and images. Visitors always make me happy, whether it’s a like or a thought, a preference, an inference: thank you. I draw my inspiration from different sources, some of which have been constant over the years, while others have dried up over time. I have preferences: generally speaking, I look for simplicity ( Basho for example), recently I added the New Zealand poet Sam Hunt and Keri Hulme to my list of readings, but I am still haunted by the beauty of Bo Carpelan’s writing , among the French, Saint-John-Perse is still there, Rimbaud, among the English, Phillip Larkin, the Welsh Dylan Thomas and Basho among the Japanese and many others. Jung, the psychoanalyst keeps nourishing my observations and, hopefully, my growth. Form-wise, I look for simplicity , something that awakens the soul. I do not like tortured or overly learned forms, but each to his own. This year, I have taken great pleasure in developing the link between the images and the text and I believe that, while keeping the same domain name (poésie visuelle), it is time to change the title of the blog to keep up with what I think this blog has become : a poetic diary through images and words. It is a terrific and privileged journey to be able to explore the nature of life and emotions in this way and I start 2025 with a lot of enthousiasm . My poetic cup is still slowly filling and in the mean time, I will share for a bit longer photos from the New Zealand summer.
Poetically yours
Sylvie G

Thank you Isabelle!🙂
If you are going to receive the year along that path of leaves, the poems will emerge from the charm of nature. Happy New Year.

A fine reflection on the relationships engendered over the years, Sylvie; and a lovely photograph. Happy New Year XX
Thank you Derrick. The photo is not mine. I hate being photographed, but somehow, my daughter seems to convince me once in a while.
I thought it must be a portrait of you
my daughter is a talented photographer
