Goodness, it IS a moonscape. What a desolate place. I imagine the light grows on you and the colors…
I discovered a new love for deserts during this trip. It was inexplicable and unexpected, I think it had to do with the quality of the silence.
Oh, I can understand that. When you stand and listen to hear just one thing because there isn’t a lot of ambient noise, it’s a lovely sensation–almost whole body, and calming.
A great discovery for me, something like what you describe.
