A propos of the comment about translation, I am certainly not a master neither of English nor French but silly season makes me think in a park designed by Bernard Tschumi, it is a playful park of purposely silly red buildings called les folies. That playfulness I feel it in your summer arrangement in a season portrayed as snowy : )

You demonstrate that there must be no adequate French translation of the English expression. Google gives « sale temps » which is certainly not one.
I would certainly would not say this, but who knows. Anyway I quite like the English expression, it sums it all up.
