#4242 poetry

photo: Cuba, so much beauty, and so much sadness at this moment.

And it would make us laugh

when we would remember

how we thought we had

said everything, felt everything,

while our opera was only just beginning.

We were touching, with such fragilely,

with the tip of our desires,

the alpha and the omega

of the stories we would live

and would lead us one day, to laugh

at our naivete.

photo: Ah ! magnolias, always keen to bloom, as soon a ray of sun is out. Nelson, on my morning walk.

The sun like a cold promise

touches the edge of the roof

a shy guest, a reluctant blessing.

Brief warmth, but the coffee is lukewarm

in the dark kitchen.

My shadow will stretch across the sand

when I get out of the icy water

I will breathe in the cold air

then go warm up.in the corner of the big armchair.

photo :  there is nothing like a beautiful closed door to draw my photographic attention, so symbolic, in my eye anyway, of what is hiding in our shadows, this one in Ollantayambo, next to the Sacred Valley, Peru

we laughed to keep it simple

for we knew everything that

needed to be done and said

but when we opened the door

to the forgotten and neglected shadow for too many years

we would find the key

to the night and with wide open eyes

filled with questions about  « what if »  « what if »

#4249 poetry

photo: the tuis’ pantry at this time of year. Below, a translation from an excerpt of a poem I published in Moebius, issue 39, winter 89, entitled Between My Lines of Forgetfulness

Confound my stride

and I will correct this word

where I go stealthily

between my lines of forgetfulness

Hold an arrogant promise

made to a horizon line

but do not hold onto me

acknowledge my superb she-wolf fear

lurking in a northern solitude. Here

my courage fades, the earth opens

you lead me on while continuing to smile

Strangely at the pavements.
