Many people suffer from feeling invisible and there are undoubtedly many occasions when the circumstances of invisibility can trigger sadness or discomfort. As for me, I am like the kereru, I actively seek camouflage and, like him, I feel protected in it.

I prefer to swim in winter, first because the water temperature (around 10 degrees) produces a lot of endorphins after my swims, and secondly because I am often alone. I can then completely soak up the beauty of the place, the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun on my face, while the rest of my body is numb from the cold. But even when I’m not alone, I like to be on the beach in winter because every walker gives off a sense of completeness, as if everyone is thinking: « how lucky to be here today ».

The lens of my camera has taught me that a scene I look at varies greatly depending on the angle from which the shot is taken. The fact that the scene is narrowed by the lens means that it is more perceptible. But seeing through a camera lens has led me to see that it is the same thing for life. The angles from which one can look at one single event are many.
